Chinese in Rhoose

Wong's delivers Chinese takeaway to Rhoose from our kitchen on Broad Street in Barry, for a flat £3.50 delivery charge with a £10 minimum spend. We're not based in Rhoose itself, our shop is in Barry town centre, but Rhoose sits well within our regular delivery run and we cover the whole village.

The areas of Rhoose we deliver to

Rhoose is a small coastal village in the Vale of Glamorgan, and we deliver across all of it. That includes the Fontygary area towards the coast, the main village centre, and out towards Rhoose Point, which is the southernmost point of mainland Wales and a well known local landmark for coastal walks along the Wales Coast Path. If you live near Cardiff Airport or close to Rhoose Cardiff International Airport railway station, on the Vale of Glamorgan line, you're still comfortably within our delivery zone. Because Rhoose is a compact village, most addresses are a similar distance from our Barry kitchen, roughly a 10 minute drive along the same road that connects the two.

Ordering from Rhoose: what to expect

Once you place an order, we start cooking it fresh rather than pulling it from anything kept warm and waiting. This can take a little longer on our busiest nights, typically Friday and Saturday evenings. If you're ordering around a specific time, for example ahead of an early flight from Cardiff Airport or to fit around evening plans, it's worth giving us a call on 01446 721044 so we can tell you realistically how far out we're running at that moment. Payment is handled securely through online ordering, or you're welcome to call through an order directly if you'd rather speak to someone.

High Hygiene Standards (5-Star Rating)

We hold a 5 star Food Standards Agency hygiene rating, the highest available, which covers everything from how food is stored and prepared to how the kitchen itself is kept. View our hygiene rating here if you'd like to check it yourself before ordering.

What we cook

The same full menu available to Barry customers is available for Rhoose delivery. That covers starters like spring rolls, prawn toast and soups, mains across sweet and sour, salt and chilli, Szechuan, Kung Po and black bean styles, plus chow mein, fried rice and noodle dishes, and set dinners for two or more if you're feeding the family rather than eating alone. Everything is cooked to order, so if you have allergies or specific dietary needs, coeliac, vegetarian, vegan or otherwise, let us know when you order and we'll do what we can to adapt the dish rather than leave you choosing around the menu.

Why order from Wong's rather than somewhere closer to Rhoose

There are takeaways based nearer to Rhoose itself, so it's a fair question. What we'd say is that everything at Wong's is cooked fresh to order rather than batch cooked and reheated, and that the kitchen has used the same recipes since it opened in 2019 rather than changing hands or changing suppliers along the way. For a 10 minute drive, that consistency tends to matter more than the extra few minutes it takes to get to you compared with somewhere literally on your doorstep.
