Where we are in Barry
Broad Street runs through the centre of town, and our shopfront has a bright neon "Wong's" sign that's easy to spot once you know to look for it. The street sits between the main shopping stretch of town and the residential streets that lead up towards Gladstone Road, so we get a mix of people picking up on their way home and people ordering in for the evening.
Barry town centre is small enough that most of the town is within a 10 to 15 minute walk. That covers Broad Street itself, the area around Barry railway station, and the route down towards Barry Island. If you're coming from Cadoxton or Barry Docks it's about a mile, which is a short taxi ride or a 15 to 20 minute walk.
Getting here:
-
On foot: around 5 minutes from Barry town clock, 15 to 20 minutes from Barry Island seafront.
-
By bus: several routes stop within a couple of minutes' walk of Broad Street.
-
By train: Cadoxton and Barry Docks stations are both under a mile away.
-
By car: free on street parking on Broad Street and the surrounding roads, check the signage for time limits.

Parking & Access
There is free on-street parking along Broad Street and surrounding streets. Look out for our bright neon “Wongs” sign – that’s us! We’re just a short walk from Barry town centre, and bus routes stop nearby. (Cadoxton and Barry Docks train stations are also within a mile if you prefer the train.)

Why order from the Broad Street shop
Being based centrally in Barry rather than on the edge of town or in an industrial unit means most orders in Barry itself are a short drive from our kitchen, so food generally arrives while it's still properly hot rather than having sat in a bag for twenty minutes. It also means collection is genuinely convenient if you're already in town, since you can park on Broad Street itself and be in and out in a few minutes.
We've kept the same kitchen and the same core recipes since opening in 2019. That matters for consistency: regulars who've ordered from us for years get the same dish they had the first time, not a version that's changed hands or changed suppliers along the way.
A Barry takeaway since 2019
We opened on Broad Street in 2019 and have been cooking Cantonese style food from the same kitchen ever since. In that time the menu has grown to cover the full range of Chinese takeaway favourites alongside some house specialities, but the way we cook hasn't changed: everything is made to order rather than kept warm and waiting. We hold a 5 star Food Standards Agency hygiene rating, which you can view here.

Chinese Food you can rely on
Over the years, we’ve had customers become friends, and families who’ve ordered from us for generations. There’s something special about being part of a community like Barry, and we never take that for granted. Whether it’s a rainy Tuesday dinner or a big family Friday-night feast, we’re always happy to be the ones cooking.
We’ve never tried to be trendy or reinvent anything – we just focus on doing what we do well. Good Cantonese food, made with care, delivered with a smile. That’s what’s kept us going, and that’s what our Barry customers know they can rely on.
